Wonky Love

I’m leaning, in a trust exercise
Like some famous tourist trap tower
Ventiginous in Tuscan skies
Exert power just holding myself
From fully falling into your black hole
Does the tower hold its breath so?
Tensing muscles as gravity grew
Of my attraction to you
It warps my stable continuum.

And suddenly
Nothing but this is sacred
My highest good, the goodest high
The knowing that we both must die
One day too soon
The loving of you
Is my why.
Even if ringbarked with fear,
Even if it will not last
Blast! this fragile overlap
I yearn for compass and a map
Towards building and enduring
Impatient now I’ve found
That I’m ready to ground
I’d commit,
If I find the right fit of hand in hand
Of spooning curve, of heart and soul
What more morthy goal?

But stop,
Clear your craving mind
Be right here with what you find
Who who are you
With this moment
Fresh and true
Not the how, what, when and who.
Bring gratitude to howling grief
Knowing melancholy’s brief
As summer rain
Finding fortitude in finding
Autumn dropping leaves again
In golden storm
My home fire is warm
If incomplete without you
I think again about you…
