Consequention

What would a collage of your life look like
Not one curated by your ego,
But collected by the cool hand of God
To show you whole – a display of tough love.

What are you trying to forget?
When did you last do something beautiful?
What sooths your soul?
What brand of pollyfiller do you smooth over your hypocracies?
Under which rug have you swept your filthy mind?
In which secret cupboard do you collect suicidal thoughts?
On who’s love do you lean?
What have you seeded?
Is this world richer for your presence?
Are you present?
Are you banking on your children
To provide meaning for your life?
Did you parents?
Are you hoping to do that one thing
That will make a difference?

None of this is known,
Not even to you,
And certainly not to God,
Who is quite busy,
And has had to delegate,
To a failing beauracracy.
They have you on file
But it’s empty.
