I thought I was being absorbent
Soaking up this multifaceted world
I thought it was breathing in deeply
Hoovering knowledge ancient scrolls unfurled
Like the gathering of a storm
I was building to perform
A composter waiting for the silence of the hall
I thought when I hoarded enough
I would hear the clear trumpet call
A billion stars would all align
In this quantum computer mind
To a singularity they would all fall
I thought I could fix
This knotty Gordian mix
With an Einstein-esque solution
Out it would pour in exhalation
A gale that could tremble a nation.
But the more I know the more I forget
The harder I work the fuzzier it gets
Until one day you can’t see the page in front of your eyes
And you realise
Your brain is not a piggy bank
Waiting for that rainy day
It’s an ecosystem you need to maintain
Cause it’s an elastic resource
No manufacturer liability recourse
You’ve got to start from where you are,
Use what you know, don’t take it slow,
Don’t wait til it’s gone too far
Potential thrives
When it’s actualised
When you use it a little each day.
So listen closely when I say
Don’t make the same mistakes
Down that path your brain stagnate
Discipline is what it takes
So take action on your dream
Or you’ll watch it flow downstream
No need to struggle in strife
With a mediocre life
Be the best mother fucker you can be
To your own path be true
Every choice is on you
Pick the right chains to make yourself free.
